As of Season 9, Hankook Tire will be the new and exclusive technical partner and tire supplier of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. According to their press release, Hankook Tire officially presented their newly-developed Hankook iON race tires to guests and representatives of Formula E at an event in the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Austria.
The new Formula E race tires have been developed in a way that meets the sustainability needs of the Formula E Championship. With 30% made from sustainable materials, Hankook’s new Formula E tires have been developed without compromising track performance. The race tires can be used in both wet and dry conditions and have a longer durability rating, another way Formula E plans to save on resources and move further towards sustainability.
The new Hankook tires with make their Formula E debut on January 14th, 2023, at the Mexico City E-Prix.
